Jim is awesome, however not too much N, he has a couple display cases on a wall with the N in it.  I miss the shop, I used to live 3 blocks away.

White Elephant, which is mostly a general store focusing mostly on outdoor activities, however they have a decent "toy" section with trains. They have two locations, one is on Division, just north of Sunset Jct and another in the Valley.

Been a long time since I went to White Elephant, but a good portion of my pre-2000 fleet was purchased there as they always seemed to have screamin' loco deals.  It was almost like they were a surplus outfit for Atlas.  In the day I never would've made a trip to Spokane without going there.

I was there two weeks ago was in Pullman for the Apple Cup 😕 and wet up Spokane to hit the DownRiver Grill for dinner  (do not miss it!)  GREAT shop, Jiim was very friendly and helpful to a total stranger.   However,  his N stock was very thin...  no locos, a few MTL cars and some scenery and scratchbuild supplies.  What was helpful was his well stocked Plastruct display, and I picked up a building kit.  Do stop in, but more for the experience than for stuff.  You can also spend some time in his parking lot watching what BNSF is up to....

That was also my experience the last time I was in Sunset Jct, 15 or 20 years ago.  Little N scale, but lots of useful "scale-free" stuff.

Chuck:  If you haven't been there yet, you might want to visit PF&S Railway Supply outside Pasco, WA.  They do have N, equipment, details, and decals, and was a regular stop when we could get out there on vacation.  They're north of town, across the railroad from US 395, or, if you have a good map, you can come south from Othello on Glade North Road, and turn east.  If it's growing season, watch out for the farm sprinklers.  They often water the roads.

The store itself is built around two boxcars, so is a little odd, and is on a working farm.  It's been five years since we were there, but at the time, the dog was VERY friendly, the cats not so much, and the chickens avoided us.

Good to see the old place still hanging on and looking good! Last I visited was 15 years ago and got a very friendly treatment. I love Spokane and its railroad history anyways. For a smallish "big city", it had an amazing variety of railroads doing some amazing engineering things to gain access to its downtown...GN , NP, SP&S, Milwaukee, UP and others...can anyone say "bridges"?
