Identifying AEI readers

What do AEI readers look like? Could one of these qualify.
If not does anyone know what "A" is?
Item "A" was recently installed at the Rochelle crossing.

Looks like 'A' could be a meter can/housing but it's more likely that it's a breaker panel that controls 'B'.

Here's a couple typical AEI scanners. Note they are typically on both sides of the track.

'A' could easily be both those things.  But the picture is too low-res to tell.

"A" looks like a remnant of the old style signal bridge -- maybe that is an AEI reader, considering the idential thing on the other side
