Minitrix sound decoder settings
« on: July 17, 2016, 05:53:18 AM »

I have a friends Minitrix german 225 diesel factory fitted with a sound decoder.
Which is excessively loud. I need the master volume CV settings to tone down the noise..
CV8 reads back as 131 - Trix decoder. But I not found any info anywhere.
The trix.de site does not, as far as I can tell have any info on the decoders.

This is the loco.

Any help appreciated.

I assume that your friend runs the loco in DCC?
I found a manual on the web but unfortunately it is in German...
There are two CVs for what you are looking for.

CV 116 determines which button regulates the sound volume.
0 = no button
1 - 16 = Function button
Default = 16

CV 118 determines the sound volume.
0 - 255 = range
Default = 180

CV 117 has something to do with the sound as well but I'm not sure what it really does.
Something with sound fading....

I hope this helps.
