Two new tender cabins are now available at Keystone Details for your kitbashing pleasure.  Both designs have drill dimples for wire grabs.  Check your favorite online images for appropriate locomotive and tender classes that used these.

First the small style:

And second, the Large three porthole style:

Nice!  :D
Never argue with idiots; they'll drag you down to their level, then beat you with experience.

John,

thanks for these very nice cabins. Even tho they are PRR based I ordered a set of the small with the idea that if they can be made to fit an SP vandy tender and look OK, I can alter the roof overhang over the entryway and it will look awesome even on an SP tender. Go figure. This is what I want it to resemble :

Thanks to you for your fine 3D efforts,

Thank you @carlso !  Kind words and I hope it works well!  I did note that a cutoff wheel in a dremel works really well to mitigate the brittleness of the material.  Much better than a knife.

Finally got some samples of the small tender to compare to the GHB version that @Scott Lupia provided me (still needs some cleanup).  They have drill points for grabs.

I've got so many projects in the queue ahead of it, but I'm really thinking about taking these, along with the PRR steam detailing set, and applying the whole thing to my Bachmann 2-8-0. Not to make it look like an actual Pennsy engine, but to make it look like the local tourist railroad saw how popular Strasburg's PRR engines were, and tried to recreate the magic, so they raided various junk yards, found a bunch of PRR appliances, and stuck a keystone number plate on their engine.

It's still a ways off though.

John,

I am embarrassed to say that it has not gone anywhere, but rather it has slipped into the "round to it" category. I have set the cabin in place on the tender and measured and it should go on quite nicely. I'll post some pictures later. Thanks for asking.
