There is some UP/CNW hotness in here. Finally a modern era weathered UP offering.

I love those CNW/UP covered hoppers.  Probably going to break my moratorium to buy them.  The full on graffiti box car is nice, as is the 4 Pack of BN repaint bulkhead flats.

One question - wouldn't UP have repainted the "CNW" as well, rather than leave the reporting marks nearly invisible in the old weathering?

I think they keep the reporting marks for accounting/ownership reasons.
Here are the proto photos. I'm tempted too, maybe split a set with someone?

UP often left old reporting marks on cars for tax purposes.

Interesting though that they appear to have repainted the roofwalk supports.

They have been doing these to gray Southern Pacific and Cotton Belt covered hoppers as well. Same for the blue Golden West Services hoppers. Original as built reporting marks/numbers and painted out Golden West Service, and patched UP shield with Building America.

I hope MTL does some of the others as well. It will definitely hurt the ole pocket book.

So why isn't MTL weathering the loco in its ATSF Weathered Reefer Set?  Chickens.
