Reading the latest issue of Diesel Era and they posted photos of new BNSF covered hoppers and they have the heralds of predecessor roads on the side.  Neat idea and does anyone have any photos of these?

I've taken a few "snaps" but nothing good quality....mostly buried in elevator tracks.   I have the GN and I forget what the other one was.   There are plenty of pics of them online though.  I agree, very cool cars.

The C&S car was involved in a wreck and got smashed pretty severely so not sure if it's still around.   I keep hoping to find the FW&D "Denver Road" one at some point.

They also have an SP&S one, although, as far as I know, the SP&S never owned a revenue service covered hopper.  I haven't seen any of them here in Appalachia, which isn't surprising.

It's presently up in the PNW region, just arrived into Glasgow, MT.  Looks like it's been spending most of its time up in that neck of the woods.

If I think about it at work in the morning, I'll write up a bit of code that will send me an email if it ever shows up in Texas.

From what I've seen/heard, there are 3 numbers of each predecessor.  I caught a couple when I lived in Spokane, WA. Haven't seen any since moving down to Vegas.

Are there any BNSF cars carrying HN torting marks? I just drove from Seattle to San Fran in the last two days and before leaving Washington thought I spied a BNSF-logoed covered hopper with "GN" marks. Traveling at 80, no time for pic.
