Saturday a late model Sterling passed me, the Hood and Cab
sure have a resemblance to this New Cat truck.
did Cat buy a Sterling assembly line from D-B a few years back ?
could be a coincidence, just wondering ?

They're built by Navistar... basically cosmetically different Paystars/Loadstars.

Not anymore. The 2016 models will be built exclusively by CAT in their Victoria TX. plant.
You can read about it here. http://www.forconstructionpros.com/news/12096758/caterpillar-ends-navistar-partnership-plans-to-build-trucks

Personally I do not like them. Look ugly to me!! Wouldn't catch me driving one for sure. Have heard from other driver  that instrumentation and gauges are awkward.
Also just as a note the CT680 was first released in 2013.
