Out of curiosity, does anyone offer a plastic, resin or diecast 1950s Cadillac ambulance/hearse in N other than Neal's N-Gauging Trains?

Cars-N-Scale made one (I have it painted and placed on my layout) and I think you may still be able to get it through Fine N Scale products.

It's a solid resin kit (just glue on the four wheels) and has nice lines.

Try this link and then look for the Cars N Scale page:

I'm looking for a '59 Miller Meteor so I can model the Gozer incursion of NYC in '84.

Do I feel dumb! I had to think about that for an hour or so before it dawned on me.

Just needs a little suspension work ... and a muffler ... and maybe brakes.

I like what you did with the windows... while they likely should be high gloss since they should be glass the color you used is probably the best I have ever seen on a solid casting.  Very effective!!!  What paint did you use???

Jerry:

These were done years ago, so I can't swear to what the paint is.  In vehicles that I have done more recently, I brush Future on the windows for a gloss coat.  I think that would improve these.

I'm pretty sure Lineside/Road Apples did a 60's Caddy Hearse as well.

Details aside, Neal's Caddy only comes pre-painted, often enough with a slightly rough paint job done over a sometimes rough-ish casting. The roofline and window shapes are somewhat overly curved/wavy to my eye. Fixable, but you're already paying for the original paint job, which may or may not be what bbussey wants. If I got to pick one of Neals's from a dozen, I'm sure I'd find one or two that I'd put immediately on the layout (picky, picky).
