Great Train Expo: Alameda County Fairgrounds Nov. 22-23

The Silicon Valley Free-moN anarcho-collective will be participating in the Great Train Expo show at the Alameda County Fairgrounds in Pleasanton, CA on November 22-23.

There will be 11 large layouts of various scales, including Peninsula N-Trak and the Bay Area Z Scale Collective (both have some amazing modules!), as well as a bunch of vendors, including the infamous Chuck of Feather River Train Shop: http://www.featherrivertrains.com/cgi-bin/webstore/shop.cgi?c=start.htm&t=main.index.htm&storeid=1

A little birdy told me a new Kato FEF & Excursion train (http://www.katousa.com/N/FEF/)might make an appearance rolling through some fine N-scale scenery (on which layout depends on if the little birdy can get a decoder in or not).

There are toy trains for kids to ride and play with, food & beer, and fun for all ages!

Wish I could join in the layout fun but I used all my train points at the Roseville show!

Very exciting possibility of having the 844 on the layout. I'll have to figure out how to make sure my sons don't see any videos of it before Christmas so it'll be a surprise...unlikely that I'll be able to.

Their post card for the last show at Point Richmond also showed the wrong dates.   

I won't be able to make this show due to being in Denver for a conference. I did spend two hours yesterday drooling at Caboose Hobbies and I will probably make a second visit on Sunday morning before heading to the airport.

Are there any visdeos of the FEF 3 running on a layout, DC or DCC? If a certain little bird did get a decoder into the loco, which one?

No FEF at the GTS.    But the Zscale club layout was awesome!

Little bird wasn't able to carry the FEF to the show, because it is a European Swallow, not an African Swallow, and the FEF weighs more than a coconut.

And the Z scale layout is always awesome, and just gets more awesome each show.
I love them being next to our Free-moN layout, as it makes our stuff look HUGE 

Very groovy crowd both days, some great N scale finds among the vendors (shocking, but true!), and the always win-win of running & talking trains.
All in all a great weekend!

Have you tested it's pulling power yet? I mean beyond the excursion coaches and water tenders.
Are there any elevations on your layout?
I know the GS4 can pull 18 coaches up a 2% grade with 18" radius track.
Just wondering how they compare.

The yellow matches the latest yellow that kato has been using. It matches the last run of SD90Mac's but not the older Sd70M. I hope that helps
