Did that years ago while in high school to make a model of the Lambert Glacier in Antarctica. Christ that thing was heavy once the plaster had gone on.

I thought using the fiberglass tape would allow me to use a very minimal amount of plaster (and I guess it did).  My goal was to create something very strong with minimal cleanup.

In the olden days it was waded newspaper, aluminum screen and paper towels soaked in plaster.  I don't see this as being much different than that.

I guess it all comes down to how thick you had to make the plaster layer.

I have used that tape to fill in the gaps on the Woodland Scenics foam risers/ramps before laying track. Worked great.
