I like named trains and complete consists. But I also like being able to make other consists from those sets **COUGH COUGH BM70M COUGH*** from cars that are available individually.
I give a point to Walthers for including decals and not lettering the cars. It would make the non :ashat:'s have to do work if they want to letter their pullmans. I doubt it would turn "less advanced" modelers away. Folks do it all the time, renumbering freight cars, but I think it's better for me if I don't have to strip the numbers off first. Especially on varnish.

And while I'm at it, props to FVM and their inclusion of optional separately applied details. Keeps the cost down in many ways. Love that! I bought my first FVM engine (the NS Pennsy) and was surprised to see those grab irons and whatnot.

So yeah, I want it both ways, giggidy.

Here's a Clerihew about Ed. K.

Ed Kapucinski
Every night, he plants a new tree.
But mention his law
and you've pulled your last straw!

Alternate version:
Ed Kapucinski
Every night, he plants a new tree.
He asks excitedly "Did you say Ménage à Trois?"
No, I said "Ed's Law."

Maybe growing up off the main line is influencing my thinking, or maybe its that I'm not quite old enough to remember the glory days of rail travel but.  Looking at what I've bought over the last few years individual cars have won out on my layout.  1 Kato PRR Broadway limited set, and the add on and 20 MT PRR cars, assorted cars but I scooped up quite a few PRR coachs and bagage cars that hit the shop.  I model a fictional secondary of the PRR, so the only reason a named train would hit my rails is if something realy bad happened on the main line.  A bagage car and a coach or two will handel 75% of the passenger neesd for my little valley.

Maybe we can convince MT to do lettered but not numbered or named.
