Who needs a turbine? a double headed turbine for that matter!

I have touch up work puttying to do and final sanding before sending this down to jason(Superturbine) for castings but its coming along! Hopefully we can get these done and available to everyone. It will require some frame modifications due to it being the correct height instead of concors overly sized version of a turbine.

That's a hell of a lot of work in bringing it this far . Those vents look square and aligned , was it repurposed material , brass etching , or fabed out from scratch ?

draskoasshat- looks great so far!  I agree with richie the vents look very straight.  Sometimes doing that takes a lot of effort, more than one would assume.  Great Job!  If I remember that's sitting on a Bachmann DDAX40 chassis?

Richie, theyre some old K&S engineering pieces of grid work. Its my only pack of them so it was a once chance try at getting them in. The are extremely straight and are correctly space. Theyre also dead nuts on with the opposite side. I built the carbody first. I then made 2 inlays made of styrene and laid the grids on them at the same time while they were back to back so they perfectly matched. I then cut the car bodys open and set them in. That was followed by lots of putty. It hasnt been bad and the worst is over. Now its clean up time before casting and selling these puppies off!!!!
