GATSME - Model Railroad Club - Lost lease- To be Demolished

I know this is an N scale forum but I'd like to share this video I made of an HO club (GATSME) I recently visited. It's located in Ft Washington, PA just outside Philadelphia. The club has been in existence since 1952 but has recently been informed they must vacate the space they have used since 1975. Plans are to demolish it by April 2013 and hopefully find another space to start over. Please enjoy this wonderful experience as I have.

Such a waste.

My son and I plan to be involved in building a museum layout.  And we will design it to be sectional so it can be disassembled if the worst happens (like this).

Too bad a layout like this could not be disassembled and at least given away instead of trashed (although I'm sure they will recycle some things).

It's sad to lose a great layout.  But it also might be a wonderful opertunity for the club to build a new better layout.  I hope they can keep together and find another location suitable to their needs.

Oh man, that sucks. I remember my grandfather taking me to visit that layout when I was like 6yr's old or something. Made an impression on me.

I hope they are able to salvage what they can, and not get rushed into moving out.

That video also shows how technology has changed.  The original builders probably never imagined a video camera small enough to show the inside of the tunnels...
