Suddenly I have problems with three BLI n-scale "engines."
The E7A is not working properly, no horn sound, very sluggish.

I just received an E6B powered unit that worked briefly, but now the horn does not work;
biggest issue is that it runs  in reverse, but very jerky in forward.  Even in reverse, the engine runs slow at maximum speed setting.

I found that the unpowered B unit that came with one of the three E6A or E7A units is causing a short when I place it on the layout with another working unit.

I have tried to do the reset function in program on track, but that has not resolved the issues with any of the powered units.

I am using an new NCE digital system.

Shorts are bad and do damage to decoders when local to the locomotive with decoder. In some instances any kind of short circuit, bad ju-ju can still occur. If you've performed a reset on the affected locomotives with decoders your safest bet is sending them to BLI for repair service.
