Ooh, Jeremy Plant wrote a great book on railroading in the Charlottesville, Virginia area (mostly focused on the C&O and Southern Ry. with some other Virginia railroads thrown in).  If this Conrail book is of a similar quality, you won't be disappointed.

Excellent.  This is my favorite time period and includes my modeling era.  It should bring back many fond memories of being trackside as a teenager.
