I seem to recall clearly that when these were first announced that one of the late schemes would have yellow ends but I've looked everywhere that I can think of and can't find that info.  Then again I don't recall anything as clearly as I used to.

I got the first of my four and it is absolutely gorgeous.  There will be five Oriental Limited bay window cabeese doing duty as scenery on my caboose track soon.

Roger, IIRC, only the last group, the 19fifty somethings, had the the yellow ends, tho any of the older versions that might have been repainted after that point PROBABLY would have received that treatment.

According the Rib Side caboose book, they began to add the yellow ends around 1974. The original scheme on all of the rib sides was the orange sides/roof with the maroon lettering, no herald. I think that the next round from FVM will have a yellow end option, along with the oil stove retrofit sides.

One possible discrepency I can see with the FVM modern herald scheme involves the white paint on the vertical end members. FVM has the white paint from the floor to the roof line, but all the photos I have seen only has white paint from the floor to the horizontal railing. Easy to fix with some black paint.
