Excellent!  I drove my '74 Super Beetle all the way thru the 80's.  What a great car (except for the heat)!

Those are Wiking. Tooling from the 70s or 80s, IIRC (not that it matters--they're very well done).

These were part of the first Wiking N scale set (N1) released in 1969.  They work for the 1500/1600 Beetles imported from 1967 to 1977.  However, if you include the "gray" market cars from Mexico, those were in production into 2003.

Those have been out since Christmas and in random colors per package. They also redid the cars/campers. The Punchbugs are back!

First drove a 68, and later a 72 Super Beetle (with a sunroof!) into the mid 80's.  Many many good stories came about as a result of those little cars.

The best thing was being able to buy parts for it at the 7-11.

I've already got a couple of these on the layout, but I'll be getting a few more.

One VW moment I'll never forget.  Was on shore duty and one of the officers I worked for wanted me to move his bug to another loocation.  Had never drive one before.  He was parked face in and I could not for the life of me get that damn thing in reverse.  Had to ask him what the trick was.

The `65 Chevelles definitely are available again as well?  Those would be worth stocking up on, as they would make good auto rack filler.  It would be nice if they were available separately, rather than with the original camper set.

Love the open engine cover on the Beetle, and the scene in general!

All the Beetles need is some paint for the headlights, tail lights, and crome (tags too) as well as paint on the rims.
