Digitrax 10-wire signal cable alternatives

I am beginning to look into the costs of the cabling required to signal my railroad.  I already have signals, BDL168's and SE8C's to do some of the work but I have not yet purchased the signal cable or other related under-the-layout components.

Has anyone used an alternative to the Digitrax signal driver cable kit?  I like the idea of the plug-and-play system available with the Digitrax Terminal Strip Mounting Kit, but I thought there may be a less expensive alternative source for the 10-wire ribbon cable.

Any recommendations are appreciated.

Buy 20 connector or 40 connector EIDE ribbon cable online. You can buy spools for cheap money. Then split them to 10 wire ribbons.  You can get the plugs online cheap too but I forgot where I bought mine, so I'd have to look.
