Everyone,

I am looking for straight-on detailed pics of the Conrail X58 "Safety on Rails Theater" boxcar from the 1990s, reporting marks CR 368191.  If anyone has any photos, please let me know.  Thanks.

Bryan,  didn''t this end up on the Black River & Western - possibly sitting there today?

I am sure it was there at one point for a long time.

Have you seen Matt Snell's page - I assume he has photos  (you may know Matt)

Lou,

I sent Matt an email earlier to see if he still has photos and literature.  I don't know if the car still exists today, or its last known whereabouts.

I emailed you info on another car - although I have a sneaking suspicion it's the same car.  The BRW has an LV boxcar BRW #601 that could well have been in Conrail paint at some point.  What is odd is that the 368191 was parked in Ringoes for a long time - well after CR was gone.  I wonder if this is it.  I sent a message to some people doing restoration work down there to see if there is any connection.

At anyrate, you now have a NJ shortline car to produce!

Definitely not the same car, as this one still retains it's original LV livery and the SORT car was originally an ex-PRR X58 no-suffix.  That brown is rust and dirt, not worn CR paint, and there is no evidence of the Phila Division placard mountings on the left side.  Great find though, as now I have another post-2000 scheme to do.

Still have to figure out how to credibly recreate aged LV cars (and to a lesser extent aged PRR cars) utilizing the standard mass-production procedures, but there remains time on the clock before deciding how to go about it.
