NH Baggage Question

WOT 70' in NH.  Did the NH own this type of car?  Don't want to start a flame on WOT here, just want to kinow if it is even close and it would make a nice addition to a mail and express train.

Yes, and it's very close.  The only feature to change to make it near-exact would be the doors, as they were rebuilt with solid single-square windows.  WOT went with this door (which is close to the original pre-modified NH doors) because they do not have a single-window wide door.

I will be getting one and changing the doors.

Figured you would know the answer.  Looks like I got to pick up at least 1 and at least one of the Southern ones as well.l

I hope they also do it in an earlier scheme, or do an Undec with these features.  I'm not a big fan of the McGinnis scheme, and don't really want to strip it and repaint.

Not to hi jack the thread but WOT's really made it easy to bash baggage cars with this line. They have kept the car generic enough to be able to add features like windows, change doors etc....I changed the doors on the WOT car and added the windows for a very, very close CPR version (before they issued one...)



Now; door spacing is a tougher nut but the cars are not designed so that changing a door width is impossible; I did just that on the 60' CNR car.



I'm a big fan of the WOT cars.

Baggage cars are some of the most highly customized prototypes out there; everyone's ship forces messed with them so it's impossible to have any mfg make em 100% correct but the WOT car really helps !

You could inquire with WoT about obtaining the doors you want as a separate part that you would then be able to paint and add to your model.  It is at least one possibility.

They don't have a wide door with a single square window, and decided the doors closest to the original NH configuration was a better choice than the double square window door  that resembles nothing NH utilized.
