N-scale back issues

I just checked out the web site of the new N-Scale magazine and couldn't find a way to get back issues.

Does anyone know if they offer back issues?

Also, didn't one of the magazines offer the first 5 years or something like that on CD-ROM?

Brian,  go to www.hundman.com  you should be able to navigate to the back issue area.   I got all my missing issues there.

(Actually, I'm still missing one, but will get that with back issues of Mainline Modeler.)   Bob also has the CD for the first 5 years (?) of Nscale.

Bob in IDaho, who prefers folded and stapled ground up trees to electronical simulations.

I was at www.hundman.com and couldn't find any hint of where the CD would be.

The only likely looking place was a link called "CD Magazine Archives" which gets me to a page without anything on it. I also tried the links to the different years of N-scale but there wasn't any info on a CD there either.

Can anyone give me idiot-proof step-by-step instructions how to buy the CD?

I ordered pre-sale back issues from Hundman direct. Back issues from the the time that Pamela Clapp took over are offered on a CD directly from N-Scale and other venues. Pamela also told me that she is working on a new CD also.

Judging from my perusal of Bob Hundman's website, I'd say he has sold out of the CD's of back issues of magazines. He does appear to have the hard cover reprint of the first ten years of N-Scale, though.

At least he didn't take all the back issues to the dumpster, as he threatened to.   :'(

Glad to see I wasn't going crazy when I couldn't find a way to get the CD of back issues.

But what book are you talking about? Is it the "In celebration of 10 years of N-Scale?"

Because I Google'd for it and got this page http://index.mrmag.com/tm.exe?opt=I&MAG=BOOK&MO=9&YR=2000 and that doesn't look like a reprint of the magazine but a few selected articles from the magazine and other fluff filler pages. OTOH, not a single article on tree making  :

Sorry to dig up a really, really old post...  :

I just wanted to let those folks out there that are N Scale Magazine fans know that they have all issues on CD from 1989-2009.  I had the first two volumes covering 1989-1999 and visited the site to see if they had gotten around to the follow on years.  This is a lot better way for me to transport versus keeping the actual hard copies.  Wish others would catch on (are you listening NSR?? ;D).  I'm still scanning articles from MRR and the others into color PDF files instead of keeping the full issues.  To much to move otherwise.

Kalmbach has put 40 years of Trains on DVD (although in a more complicated format) and I wish they'd do the same with MR so I can get rid of my 20 boxes of back issues.  The same for RMC and, yes, NSR also.

use the excuse of needing to get a new iPad instead of dropping $200 for a new DCC throttle...   run trains from your iPad and then read the magazine
