Long hood foward taken to the extreme?

At first I thought it might be helpers; but the smoke, engineer, and something about the track says otherwise.

If N scale had good SD40-2s, C30-7s, U30Cs, SD45s, SD40s, and SW10s; I'd be in N scale.

I had to leave a comment on this one... just too weird.

Now, picture seeing this one on a layout. Most would shake their head in disgust as this would never happen. Good old RI!

I was thinking helpers since the headlights are on toward the caboose. The smoke could be explained by strong wind. But, certainly it could have happened the way it reads ...

On the RI transfers, any goes was the rule.  That's not the first UP GP30B I've seen a picture of being used.  Basically if you see any RI train in the Twin Cities that isn't Inver Grove yard, then it was a transfer run.  My favorite locos used were the ex-DRGW GP7s that the RI bought not knowing that they couldn't MU with any other locomotives.  But you could just as well see a shiny SD40-2 also.

Mega-plow!! I think I've seen a pic of a UP GP with a similar one.

Why couldn't the DRGW Gp7s be MU'd with any other locos?

I though the dot above the GP30B's headlight was caused by the U25B's rear light..
