Loading device references

I enjoyed reading Keith Kohlmann's brief article on upgrading Atlas Trainman 40' double door boxcars in the latest NSR today. In particular, I enjoyed the hint on modeling the exterior detail of the Evans auto loader - the undercarriage chain tubes. That made me think of Mr. Kohlmann's past article on grain doors.

I've seen the occasional proto photo showing an interior load divider or what-not, but it would be nice to find a central source for such details. I'm wondering if anyone knows of such a central reference source on modeling interior details like that?

I would have to look back to be more specific, but I believe that the Car Builder's Cyclopedia's have b/w pictures and illustrations of some types of loaders.

I know some parts of the Cyclopedia's were reprinted, but I'm not sure is something like this was included.

I'll take a look later.

The '66 has some stuff on Evans DF and DF-B equipment and there's also a little on Equipco Load Dividers.

I don't suppose you'd consider scanning that as a PDF and letting me borrow it?

I porbably can't get any scans as these books are old, thick and heavy.   I don't even open the binding all the way when I read through them. I should be able to get decent photos though.

I went back through a couple older editions and there is stuff on several different loaders.  Unfortunately the drawings included are mostly for some of the oddball stuff, some I'd never heard of.  Things like Evans DF loaders have a couple pictures of what they looked like.

Figure out which loader in particular you'd like info on and I'll see what I have.
