Bachmann DCC Replacement Tenders

This may already have discussed, already and if so my apolgies but I understand Bachmann is advertising replacement steam locomotive tenders in the various sizes as an easy way to convert DC steam locomotive to DCC? 

Does anyone have information how this is accomplished, is there a separate DCC decoder in the tender so it's not necessary to hard wire the tender to the locomotive?

The tenders do not include a deocoder, they just make it easy to install one. They have a light board with solder pads for a decoder and a 6 pin plug that connects with a few of their recent loco's. Most people adding them to other loco's remove the lightboard and just hardwire things. The biggest advantage to these tenders is that they have all wheel pickup and can be used to improve older loco's, be the DC or DCC.
