Anyone make flat car brake wheels?

Can't seem to find any pix online, I got this Red Caboose 42' flat used and it was missing the brake wheel.

Photo of another model, actual model missing brakewheel.

Red caboose only sells parts in bulk with a $5 min order plus shipping, and it seems absurd to spend $10+ for this part.

Will this do?

I've looked at those online before and can't tell if they include a long enough "stalk" or not. I will need to see those in person unless someone happens to have some on their workbench and can tell me.

I'll be up at MBK soon and will take a look.

I got one I'll give you considering you got it from me in the first place.  Wondered where that spare brakewheel came from.

Gold Medal Models makes a fret of assorted brake wheels with pre-drilled holes that I like and I use phosphor bronze wire for a stanchion.  More durable than brass.

Cool, wasn't sure if I somehow lost it or not. ;)

Everyone: Thanks for the input, will check out the GMM and MTL ones in the store - for other projects I have in mind.

I think these might be what you want, actually.

Mark, you also can use the MTL tank car brakewheel, which is more fine than the RC brakewheels.

Tichy also has brake wheels, which are plastic, and a little clunky.  They come with metal stock that you can cut to whatever length you want.
