After looking at the close-up pics on the website, it appears there is enough floor bracing to body-mount an MTL coupler.  Not the preferred solution, but at least an alternative exists.

I wonder if TrainCat Bob's cryptic message means he has such a solution? A foldable etched floor mount box would be an interesting solution.

Agreed.

This approach works for me though. If manufacturers aren't going to adopt body mounts, considering their application is a must, especially on open ended cars.

The ER's UP scheme is as-delivered and correct for the low-side 4427 - UP class CH-90-6 cars according to the RMJ covered hopper book. I can't find any online, but there's a pic in the book of one as painted by ER. It seems appropriate ER start with the early paint schemes given the model's one of the earlier production covered hoppers. Give us '60s modelers a bone once in a while, please.

I think what is also interesting is their ad in the new MR which shows what looks like track with scale tie plates and spikes and a CR depressed center flat... of course HO.
