thanks guy's,the roads were made with .40 evergreen sheets,painted modelflex weathered black. i'm not happy with the way they came out so i'm gonna redo them,proberly use larger sheet to eleminate seams in the roads,paint road lines before i mount them to the layout and do something about the road shoulders they look to green to me.

I would leave the road alone .. but do this .. mix 2-3 parts white and 1 part black craft paint .. then repaint the road .. as far as the crack, that's ok .. just disguise it using "tar" (black marker) ..  for the shoulders .. some white or gray fine ballast ..

Oh .. for roads, get a big "house for sale" sign at wal-mart . they are only a couple of bucks .. lot cheaper

Grey automotive primer is a good starting point color-wise. Get a couple of different shades for variety. Brush on some black chalk dust for the grime stripes down the lanes. I use colored pencils to make the lines.
 


And don't worry about the seams in the plastic--real roads got 'em too.
