While I was in Florida looking for a house, this magnificent hunk of plastic appeared on my doorstep.



I need to weather it, although probably not until after my move.  A fade coat is a must, but before that I need to add the ACI label. Since I model 1980, I'm tempted to add a wheel inspection dot as well.  The proto photo from 1979 shows just a few subtle grime and rust accents besides the fade coat:

I love the BAR ones I have gotten and look forward more of them and the CP versions. These are my second favorite boxcar of all time(sorry Bryan the FVM MEC FMC is my favorite)

Yes, but I was trying to keep the costs down.  In hindsight, it's only two additional pad hits per side (red and blue, as the other colors already are present) so I should have at least found out what the cost would have been.  It's too late for releases 3 and 4, but I will do that starting with the fifth batch.

No need to apologize, as the FVM FMC Maine Central is nicely done.  Glad to hear you like the XIH model.

I love the slab doors on cars like this and some newsprint cars. Its simple, understated and funtional.
