Most of the ORE trains if not all that ran around the Horseshoe under PC came from Greenwich (Philly) to Weirton, WV.. These ran into and under Conrail and were ZWW's. I know this because I ran them.. It is to bad that know one has made a PRR ORE car in N Scale.. These were awesome trains and were heavy as all get. I ran one once with 160 cars, 2 SD80mac's up front and 2 more 110 cars deep..

Penn Central, you either loved it or hated it, and latter was most folks..

Yeah maybe not for Horseshoe, seems a big undertaking for a layout....
Anyway, I suppose my wants include passenger ops (commuter or long distance, both would be a bonus), mainline freight and ore/coal trains, somewhere mountainy maybe or atleast some decent grades (big fan of grades and helper ops tho would forgo those if a better location is found). Timeframe I'd like would be around the merger time with PRR and NYC equipment hanging around but alot of PC black (easy to paint :D) but if possible maybe some Amtrak too.

"Did Jerry not include the Eastern Shore or did the PC give up the Delmarva?"

Conrail gave up on the Delmarva after a proposal by the Southern Railway to take it over for access to the northeast fell through because of the PC unions.  Shortlining it did away with union opposition.  Most lines are on their third or fourth owner now... but apparently the prospects for the main line are good since they are getting help to completely rebuilt one of the barges so that cross harbor service can be restored on Norfolk's end.

Correction:  Conrail only gave up on the secondary lines on Delmarva, and the main stem below Pocomoke City, near the Maryland/Virginia line.  The line was, and is a very active freight line, with NS operating the same track that Conrail took over, while the secondary lines are operated by small, state supported operations of the Maryland and Delaware.  The lines below Pocomoke have been through a revolving door of ownership, but the carfloat to Norfolk remains an important link.

Thanks for filling in the blank... I couldn't remember what the north end of the shortlining was.
