Was there on Sat. and had a great time. It was a little warm but not all bad. The layouts were pretty good and they were actully running some good trains. Met alot of good folks and got some good deals.. found some MT cars for a good price, yes there were a few that I didn't have ..

Air conditioning went on the fritz yesterday.

Despite the A/C glitch it was a good event.  One vender was selling undec DC engines. Kato's were $45.00; Atlas were $25.00 and LifeLike were $20.00.  I picked up  four Atlas GP7's and 2 Lifelike SW 9's for $140.00.  He had Atlas GP 7's, SD9's, GP30's, GP 38's, RS11's and others.  Lifelike SW9's and GP20's.  He had a whole box of Kato that I didn't even look at as I tapped out on the six locomotives I purchased.

Tex-n-Rails had some good deals as did others.  Everyone seemed to be willing to deal.  In fact one dealer had a sign that read, "All prices marked are negotiable."  I heard two dealers talking and saying that it was a good show so they were apparently happy.

The A/C did go out [AGAIN] and US Rte 30 was being repaved [AGAIN]. It seems like that road gets repaved every year.  I thought Bud Shuster left office?   Mike Phillips did a great job with the event [AGAIN].  Next year there may be more time  for running trains after the public portion is over.  Good flow of people through and a real nice touch was that Mike had the Bedford Volunteer Fire Dept. there with their canteen trailer serving food and drinks for very reasonable prices.  They seemed to have a good amount of the participants chowing down so I hope they did well.  All in all a good show and we will be back next year.

Again?

Yep. It was in the unit this time. Nobody knocked the thermostat off the wall this year.Ten layouts set up. As usual, some very nice deals available this year. Pig roast went well. Brian did his usual stellar job with the auction last evening.

Ran an 85 car coal drag this morning. Mike Phillips sold me ten more which were promptly added to get it up to 95.

Lost radio control yesterday morning. Spent most of the day troubleshooting and reconfiguring loconet to try and fix it. Came to the conclusion that we had two bad UR91's. We had a UR92 operating with zero problems. Dave had his droid throttle going as well.

Today we lost radio early on. We then found out that every radio layout in the building had been out. Not sure what has been added this year. It worked fine the last 4 years in that building. Trying to decide whether to go with a new duplex throttle or just pick up an Ipod and use it instead.

Going to try to make Danville next month. Lets my wife visit our daughter in Roanoke and I get to not visit my son-in-law at the same time.

Made my first visit this time. I was happy with everything. Nice setup, and the folks there  were super friendly. The town seems to embrace the event. They even list it on their events calendar that is published months ahead.

Some really well done modules and plenty of merchandise to look at along with some enticing pricies. Vendors were very pleasant and willing to haggle. Some new MT cars were priced at $8, as well as Atlas 70 hoppers. Never saw them break the $10 mark before.  Mike & Co ran a well planned and executed event. The pig roast was fabulous for a mere $10

Saw both layouts Friday evening. The Bedford layout is coming along very nicey and aftter a 30 mile drive to Hollisdaysburg, Perry Corless was a gracious host to four N. Va Ntrakers and me.

Ran into a couple acquaintences from my area and got to chat with many other attendees who were all enjoying the day. Yes the AC was on the fritz and one went outside to get relief, but it was bearable.

Bedford was its usual great time.  This is the only event that Denise and I look forward to.
