Verne Niner's Mining Layout

You may remember Verne as a nice, stand up guy when he was in N scale.  He used to be a member here and participate a lot in '04-'05.  He left N for On30 and created a pretty nice layout with a website:

You know, the more On30 I see, the more i think I need to do a layout at some point depicting Louisiana sugarcane roads in the teens and 20's.  Of course, that may have something to d with wirking around the 'cane industry at the moment . . .

I saw some On30 running at Peach Creek Shops recently on a small display layout. It is cool, but don't use HO track, it just looks weird.

Indeed, HO track on On30 just doesn't look right. Its a shame, the modelers will strive to include great detail in whatever they do, and spoil it with the odd looking HO track.


However, HO track DOES look pretty dang good in 55n3!
