the frame filler on the SD80 grabs on the fuel tank holding down the shell. you must push the frame filler to clear the tank and pull it out to clear the light board... a bit of a pain but with care...

Just for the record, I actually have a SD80MAC and I just tried the "drop" method linked in the video. Took about 2 seconds to remove the shell. Try it, trust me.
