Hey, if I found a free 24" door, I'd be all over it... There's also the consideration of lighting (I can't add any more) and airflow in the room...  We've all been up there in July...ain't pretty.

Air flow can be managed and or enhanced with a floor fan. I have seen it done on several layouts. Seems to work pretty well.

There's a ceiling fan directly over the peninsula.  some of the layout lighting comes from that as well.  I can't go much taller or I'll be all up in its business...

I'm really quite content with the configuration as it sits.
