Hallmark U30B Help

I have a Hallmark U30B. One of the wires that was soldered to the tab on the truck has come loose. It does not want to be resoldered. Tried with and without flux and cannot get it to take. Any help would be appreciated.

I ran into this problem too. The wipers appear to be steel, and may need a resistance soldering iron to work properly.
