Don't know how you guys come up with the projects but I thought I would throw this in the mix being as it is one strange self propelled flatcar.......Wish I had more pics but these are all I got.Got them off a heavy truck collector and restorer site.The KW ran a Hydro pump that ran hydro motors on the axles of the flatcars trucks.

That's one seriously strange mashup.

The challenge wouldn't be so much in building it (looks like a fairly simple bash)--it would be making it run!

Exactly what I was thinking.The truck is located in a good location directly above the truck so you could hide the trucks power unit in the truck over the truck that is under the truck.....truck.....truck Truck TRUCK :

The challenge for you, David, is to have the tie crane in the back articulated and working while the car is moving!

Is that an 85' flat?

I like how, in your second and third pics - they've removed the road wheels entirely and appear to have installed flanged wheels on the rear axles.
