Came in today from MB Klien. One coupler broken clean off and the chimney bent over. What a pain in the rear. I wonder how much this is going to cost me to get right!  :'(

Probably pretty quick.  MBK has really good customer service.  Call them up, send it back and they'll probably make it right in a couple days.

Or, you can go on every forum on the planet and piss and moan, and see how that works for ya...

That is good to hear, the good customer service aspect from MBK.  I wouldn't think you could fault me for venting a little...You never have?

I can understand venting on one forum, but cross-posting on more than one...

Am I the first person to ever post on more than one forum?  If there was no point in that than there would only be one forum.  I got together with some friends one evening earlier this week and made a statement about how bad the Bears played this past weekend and what a disappointment it was.  I also made a very similar statement to some guys I hang around with from work when I got in Monday morning.  How is that any different then this, other than the medium?  You did not have to read it on both sites.  I got a car, it was damaged and I am frustrated and wondering how much effort I am going to have to invest to fix two minor but significant issues.

For the record I have had perfect service from MBK and all my MT products up till this one have been perfect!

Here's the deal.  We've all had opportunities to vent.  I had a little rant about Kato last week.  But not until I called them to see about getting a replacement part, and I ended up talking to a complete jerk.  I don't try to sully anyone's reputation until they've gone out of their way to treat me badly.  Seems to me if MBK has given you good service in the past, you call them, and get the problem fixed.  If they drop the ball again, maybe you have something to talk about.

That's all.

It is the way that the MT RPO is packed in the Jewel Case that is the problem. It is packed like their recient freight cars with a moulded clear plastic bottom nest and that clear protector strip inserted in one end that goes over the top. This works well for freight cars with not too much extre detal, but a car like the RPO with delicate smoke jack etc. is at risk. Take a look at how most of the manufacturers of passenger cars are now packing them, with the exception of Wheels -O-Time they all have a moulded bottom nest and a molded top nest (cover) ,Walthers, Intermountain Centrailia, Rapido. Oh I guess Con Cor is the other exception. I even recieved one Walthers sleeper that had two top covers one pressed over the other which almost stress cracked the plastic top lid. Go ahead and Vent even on several lists, its a good stress releaver. Nate Goodman (Nato).Salt Lake, Utah.

CBQ Fan:
I read your post on the other forum.  Now I see it on this forum.  What a complete waste of bandwidth.  Call MB Klein or MT and they will make it right.
Be done with it.
Is this the first shipment you ever received that had damage.  If so, you are lucky.

So the thing that set your week off is the Bears playing lousy.  Then you get a broken car.  Then you cross post and a bunch of people get on your case.
In the end, the Bears still suck (Can't do anything about that) and you get a new car.  Not bad, except the part about people getting on your case.

;D  A minor issue popped up on a recent order (just one of those things that happens) and they responded by noon the next day!  I saw excellent customer service and felt it was important to acknowledge that!  Thank you MBK!
