...As for new flats, yes, they are on my hot list to be worked through in September when the tooling is decided for next year. Not sure which one though...as always I lean toward SP and a nice F70-10 with the proper SP style stake pocket locations, or even an older Harriman Pressed Steel flat would be hot...

How about a F70-6 or dash 7 instead? Either of those two were pretty darn close to the car series which was the bulk of WP's flat car fleet, @ 300 cars and using that I could do the tandems and the drywall bulkhead cars too. Dash 10s were welded construction If I remember correctly. It's easier to take rivets off than put them on and the other manufacturers are doing welded cars.
