I haven't done a Faller building in years... used to be the only thing you could get. Very euro looking, not that that's bad. In a block of DPMs, the Faller one would look like the badly renovated or otherwise "nouveau" structure blighting an otherwise nice looking historic block. You might need to watch the scaling on the upper floors, too. Sometimes they're a little shorter than standard, and may not compare favorably to the DPM spacing.
As for colors, the parts are molded in color, not painted, so you'll get that plastic sheen unless you add at least a coat of dullcote.
A better match might actually be those Model Power buildings (4 story commercial type) . They have some neo-classical details that would fit right into an older downtown strip. They also bust up into flats pretty readily. I just avoid using their pitched roofs, which contribute to their old-world flare.
