Did anyone look at the mechanism close in the video, it sure looks like a Kato. The center pick up clip looks just like on all my Sd.s and -9's by kato.

All that means is that the mechanism is patterned after a proven design.  Kato did not manufacture the mechanism for the FVM model.

Is this the first N Scale model to use the "plug" in DCC chip?  I've never seen one before and these will make life so much easier.

...maybe the first US model, this sort of plug is common in European models from minitrix, Fleischmann, Roco and co
