I have a bunch of that NYDRR in a book I have and that was one idea. Plus the decal can be done in black, that is something I can handle (maybe).

I like the idea.

I don't know, I'd have to remove the fuel tank skirts. That is doable, but I have tungsten on the way that fits there.

Who can whip up this artwork?

Thanks.  In measuring the Bachmann model to the photo. I figure a .270" square will fit the model.

BTW Scott Lupia is modeling the Harlem Transfer 44T

Well it is full steam for this. I milled the frame and cut the skirts off the shell.

I have a piece of tungsten on order to put down here, but oh well so I lose a few grams. On the other 44T you can see the slot I milled for the tungsten. Besides the large piece where the circuit board was.

Thanks for the artwork Tom!

What did you use to mill the frame?

It is really about the cheapest way to mill and lathe at the same time. It is nowhere near extraordinary.

The travel on the milling attachment is not long enough to hack down both sides of a MT frame. I have to do one side, then fop it around to do the other.

Hey so I printed out onto Testors decal sheet and the stuff hasn't dried in like 2 hours. I know you have to seal it, but is this normal?

I'm using a ink jet printer and it says to set it for normal plain paper.

Does it look good, besides being wet?  If it does, maybe it is the humidity today?  Try printing again on a setting that would be geared toward plain paper, so it won't use as much ink.  Make sure you truly are using ink jet decal paper.  If all this fails, get some from www.decalpaper.com.

That site says to set the printer to glossy. So I tried that, we'll see how it goes.

But I can't get Model Flex BNSF silver to spray even remotely even. The same airbrush sprays their other colors fine. I don't know if I want to mix solvent based colors with water based. So far I sprayed the sill with engine black. Was going to do the silver next, then the orange stripe.

Edit:
Well I just used regular testors silver, hope the orange goes on good over it.
