Bingo. I'm not sure it's arrogance, but a lack of follow-up and oversight. Usually, by the time the error's are pointed out by the modeller, it's too late.....and expensive to correct the mistake.
As far as the topic of the thread. I'm telling you guys that alot of lighter gray Seaboards were showing up before they would have had a chance to fade. Maybe they just painted on the Seaboard System logo on faded or L&N Gray units. However, I agree that the gray is wrong on the SD45-2's until about 1986+.
