Probably not original CR equipment, but it would make a nice conversation piece!

(These two were sitting down in Delmar this evening when I went down to the club.)


And here's a detail shot of the cab signal box.  Those things always remind me of the brief case full of cash in "It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World"

It looks like the cab signal box has a padlock on it. Is this an NS practice or have I just been missing this detail all along?

I just noticed the A/C condensate drain line coming down from the number boards, too!  Definitely a post NS feature, though...  Wonder why that didn't get painted black?

Yep, all that (except the chain) is post-CR.

The bracket on the truck is to hold an EOT device when not in use, and the pipe on the cab is plain hold PVC.

I'm pretty sure the AC was a post CR development, but the toilets were definitely big blue's.

Right Ed, CR didnt have AC, thats was NS`s deal. Wasnt there something about NS units not being able to lead CR trains in run through service before the merger because the toilet situation?

It was not a CR rule, it was a Pennsylvania law - called the "potty law" by crews.  NS units could not lead in Pennsylvania. It was extremely common to see NS power on CR trains on the Hagerstown to Harrisburg to New Jersey lines. But a CR unit was always leading.

Of course, NS units could not lead in cab signal territory either.
