Baltimore and Annapolis track diagrams

I biked the Severna Park area of the B&A trail on Sunday.  I was surprised to see a piece of track and switch by Jones Station - one, because I would have guessed that it would have been long gone; and two, because I had assumed that the line was just a really long single track spur from Baltimore.

Has anyone seen any engineering diagrams?

Off Topic (kinda) - sorry Tom...

in that same area (it is all relative i suppose)...

in between the east/west bound lanes of Rt. 100, underneath the B&A Bike Trail overpass at Marley Station Mall (which was named for the original Marley Station on the B&A) there are a few pieces of original rail (still visible) where the local police hang out and set speed traps in their cruisers...  if you can follow that description take a look next time you pass by... it is easier to see if you are heading eastbound... not sure if visible from westbound.

to tom's question...  the old B&A shops (mid 80's ???) up off B&A Blvd. across from Hubers Bus in Glen Burnie has a building that is currently being used by an engineering firm and when you walk in there are plenty of old RR related items...  not sure how much is B&A specific...

the B&O Museum would be another place to look... in their collection...

Thanks for the info.  If it turns out that a lot of customers existed along the line in the 60's, the B&A would make for a nice model.

Tom, until 1950 the B&A was primarily a passenger interurban, so there would have been passing sidings at almost every station South of the end of double track, which I think went as far South as Glen Burnie. By 1965, when I was there, the bridge by the Naval Academy was out of service, but tracks continued into town and toward DC to a lumber yard.

there is a restaurant in Glen Burnie off of Quarterfield Rd that received a donation of old Glen Burnie pics (aerials of track and roadbed and such) and has hung them up for the patrons to "remember the good old days"...

place's name is Gary's Grille .. you can't miss it... it has the big red caboose in the front of the parking lot...

there is a model railroad club in the Severna Park station.  they might have what you desire.  swing by on a Thursday evening - that's when they meet.

There is (was ???) a Gary's Grille in Severna Park in the shopping center behind the Boston Market that had some great photos of the interurban line too. I personally would love to one day make a model of this line with some fictional freight customers.

The original Gary's is still in Severna Park with the pictures - we go there frequently.  I have considered modeling the line, but by 1967, the line was weeds and had but a handful of customers at the north end in the Ferndale/Linthicum areas.
