Track realignment?

Hyperion, the BNSF yard down by the river isn't the one I'm thinking of, but you're correct on every aspect of modeling that. Great potenial for operation, and scenery, all really in the "midwest".

The one I'm thinking about is farther south, I think, and not on the river. Might be one of the old CNW branches that roamed around. Not a big yard, be if memory serves me, 3-4 fairly long tracks.

I know the guy doing the auction, he is painting a set of F3 for me right now.

You can build them right over the print-outs I listed. I print out 2 copies and use one for the tracklaying. I cut the PC ties to length and use spray glue on their back, then stick them down on the print out. Once everything is soldered up I pull the whole thing up from the paper. Now I take the second printout and glue wood filler ties down with elmers. Now use pilobond and glue the PC/rails turnout down over the wood ties and you are done.

I would leave the lower turnout where it is since the track is for a passenger station siding where the length is not an issue. 

Seems to me that if the curved turnout & the lower turnout are too close, there is a chance it could result in too sharp of an S-curve.
