So not only does Kato have it out for those who model Eastern US RRs, but they're publicly admitting a campaign against the sight-impaired too?

Hey Chuck,

Not to derail the original announcement, but did Kato give any updates on SD70ACE units? Their website now shows the Rio Grande Heritage unit as an April delivery whereas it was February previously. Since it *is* February I'm surprised they haven't even shown test samples yet (unless I missed them).

Thanks!

I am sorry to see this, even though I didn't pre-order one. I've got way too much stuff pre-ordered right now.  Manufacturers has have delayed way too many releases.

I like to have stuff staggered so my account isn't getting hit all at once, and almost none of my 2008 pre-orders has shipped.  That means that it was potentially all falling to this year.  Given that much is outstanding, and I lost my job last week, I just can't feel TOO badly over another locomotive I won't get.

Early '08, I would have purchased at least one of these and several cab-forwards.  Towards the end of the year, it was just one cab-forward for me.  Now, I'm really wondering if I should have done even that.

Apparently the first runs of the ACe's  have been pushed back to April. I called Kato today and they confirmed this.

No info on parts availability for the GS-4's. It's been said many times before but Kato USA really is treated like the step child. They don't seem to get any respect from headquarters.

Chuck, I've had bronchitis since last weekend and missed all the "dirt". Maybe they want "Challenger-N-Scale" to do all the "custom lettering". ;D BTW: Richard will be out-of pocket for a while for a medical issue, late this month. If I get feeling semi-normal again, I'll be in charge all the time! Danger! Danger! Will Robinson! 8)
