Got the fuel tank shortened on my SD40-2...  didn't have time for much else.

Although Scott is modeling the right railroad, (I.E. Erie Lackawanna) I think he is modeling the wrong time frame (Post '65)

I prefer the 60-64 time period myself,

but decals are a toughie....

 :P

Actually, Scott and I share a common history: We both used to ride the same local freight, (WPDJ-61 and WPDJ-62) on the same line, only he caught it and rode it around (correct me if I am wrong, Dover?) and I used to ride the night turns when they came through Mountain View.

One thing I think we both agree on however is that Bobby Apgar was one hell of a great guy.

Sure miss those old GP-38's on the Totowa Industrial, shoving tank cars of chlorine across U.S. Route 46. hahaha, that alone made the job worth combat pay, along with Hartz on the O.J.

Long time no see Scott, glad to see your still out and about.

Hey Joe haven't seen you around in a while.  Gotta love that early 70's EL grit.  Been a long time since I thought about the Conrail local from my youth.  Spent many hours in the engine with Ron and Bobby.  Bobby would get a kick out of knowing that I am an engineer too now.  Last time I saw him, I had a very different career path.  Good times back then.

Scott, (list)

Yeah, Bob Bahrs "converted" me from that sinful Penn Central I was modeling to the former Lackawanna Lines. (Hallelujuh! I saw the Light, haha)

I admit my interest in being a career railroader was destroyed when they (The Nasty Cat and that Rabid Horse) decided to kill Conrail.

I actually just turned down an interview with NS 2 weeks ago, just have no interest. It isn't fun now that Conrail is gone. (and Fun was what made Conrail, well, Conrail..)

Worked with the NYGL for a stint, but the money wasn't there, and most of the regionals around here aren't hiring.

I work now for the #1 remanufacturer of engines and drivelines (Jasper) and do ok.

As for modeling, I'm switching to N scale, (lost all my HO) and have been inspired by many great people here on this board to start modeling again. Although my heart lies with several, I figured I would revisit the EL in the early years since its "native" to my back yard.

Good to hear your doing well and still modeling, love the open door on the cab of the pup. Visit us more often, this is the best board on the net in my opinion.
