Are they really making them now? I thought they have been on their site for around 2 years now...

At least two years. Probably more like 5 years.

I was planning to get these, until the Athearn 65' mill gon came out.

If you poke around the site, it looks like they are being made - in China - for delivery in Jan 2009 - in PRR, PC and CR schemes.

Those look nice. I hope the stirrup isn't RP resin or it will soon be missing...

Weren't they to do a well hole flat a couple of years ago too ? I wonder if those plans are to be resurrected as well .. hole .

If they're made in China, wouldn't they most likely be injection molded plastic like other made in China models?

The announcement says injection molded plastic body with a die cast underframe.   Seems like everyone except MTL is getting on the die cast bandwagon.  I really like the Atlas 55 ton offset side hoppers over the MTL ones which are too light.  I would expect Atlas to release a four bay offset side hopper or possibly a 2 bay ribside without the fishbelly.
