can you show me the detailing on that Santa Fe C44-9W. I have 2 of them and I want to weather both nd seen your super detail locomotive. Please can I see it in detail to get some weathering ideas.
I don't have any shots of that one yet, maybe this weekend. It came to me with some bad airbrush weathering, just a heavy application of grimy black on the roof. That smoothed out OK with some chalks, which is what you're seeing in the photo above. I've been experimenting with turning the red to splotchy pink as these units appear today. What may help more, and I'll get them online too, is some reference photos I took this summer in WA. I snagged a couple of ATSF Dash-9's from both sides, including one where I was able to get both sides and a roof shot.
