Three "Travel-en-Train" cases(like suitcases with drawers) and a couple of Trains Boxes Plus and my engines in their jewel boxes go in a HEAVY plastic tool box from Loew's. It's 24" long and over a foot square, and is NEON yellow, so you can't miss it. Got one of the best "systems" in the club, or the OKC club's according to others. Everything's water-resistant, so snow and rain aren't a worry, and a I got a fold-up dolly at Harbour Frieght on sale I load everything on and wheel into the show. All my stuff weighs over 100 lbs. Saves lots of trips to the truck too.

I got a cardboard box from the Container Store and their 3-Part Convoluted Foam pieces that are designed for photo camera cases. The little squares a pre-cut and you just have to pull them out. I glue the foam with Gorilla Glue on a sturdy cardboard piece.

That seems to be a reasonable solution, sizewise it looks close to the high iron boxes which I really like. I didn't see the box on their website though, do you have what model number the box is?

I could not find it on their web site either. The box has the bar code number 4 00100 09462 4 and has no name except the blue Container Store logo.

I called the container store and talked with a very helpful person. Then I sent them a link to this thread and they were able to figure out exactly what the box is. That's the good news, the bad is that they are 'ship restricted' which means that they are in store only items, you can't order online.

They are their shipping boxes, legal size:
http://www.containerstore.com/browse/Product.jhtml?searchId=13431912&itemIndex=1&CATID=62517&PRODID=62152

So now all I have to do is move to near a container store  :'(

I suppose using the box they came in is too old fashioned? That's what I do, keep it in the jewel box and play Tetris organizing everything in larger cardboard boxes. Store neatly ni a closet and dream of a basement...

As I have no layout, I'm all store and no run, so this is a pretty good system for me  ;D
