Just wanted to let all of the N Scale steel mill modelers on the list
know that I've finally gotten our website updated with the new steel
mill cars, kits and detail parts that we've added in the past few
months.

Tired of having those empty rolling mill buildings? We are proud to
announce the first in a series of rolling mill interior kits, SK004:
1950s Pit Furnace. Commonly known as a soaking pit, this kit is
based on the #7 Pit Furnace at Youngstown Sheet & Tube's Brier Hill
works and is suitable for any mill from the 1950s on. We also have
released two different cars, SM018: 30' Hot Ingot Car and SM019: 20'
Hot Ingot Car that have freshly stripped hot ingots needed to feed
the pit furnaces.

We are also announcing another new car, SM017: Single Thimble Slag
Car. This car is based on a Pollock car with 260 Cu.Ft. thimble. As
with our first slag car, the car comes assembled, painted and
weathered with a hot slag insert.

These are just a few of the new products that we have available now.
And we have a lot more planned in the coming months.

Of course you can't accurately model the Brier Hill pit furnace without
the engineering drawings, and we have them! Where do you think Ken got the
info. he needed to make the kit?

I've met Ken Izzo, he is the webmaster for the P&LE historical society. Before I met him he was nice enough to send me some Erie decals he had made.

I didn't realize Ken is half of KenRay!  We corresponded on and off a few years ago.  I sent him some of my EL sets and he asked for some tips before doing his Erie hopper sets.  Small world.   Valley guys ya know . . . always got sumthin' goin'.
